The Bertinoro Conference will be the second plenary event of the Research Networking Programme “The Philosophy of Science in a European Perspective (PSE)” (2008-2013). It will be articulated in five main sessions, plus parallel sessions hosting junior scholars that will explore new perspectives for future developments in the philosophy of science and in a number of scientific disciplines, hence encouraging an interdisciplinary approach. In detail, the five main sessions will focus on the following topics: i) new directions for the use of formal methods in philosophy of science; ii) scientific pluralism; iii) new approaches in the social concern on science: social constructivism and realism on the cultural and social sciences; iv) recent developments and new directions in the philosophy of physics; v) contemporary relevance of neglected approaches.
