JOB: Associate Professor (Philosophy of Economics)

The Department of Philosophy is seeking candidates for a new position in

Logic and Philosophy of Science. The position is tenured at Associate

Professor level.

AOS: Philosophy of Economics, Philosophy of the Social Sciences

AOC: Logic, Foundations of Probability

Gross starting salary: about 53.000 euro per year (incoming workers from

foreign countries are entitled to significant tax exemptions for five

years).

Approximate starting date: January 2025

The University of Milan is a major teaching and research institution

located in one of Europe’s thriving cities. The Department of Philosophy

has been identified twice as a centre of excellence by the Italian

government, and awarded with special funding from 2017 until 2027. It

hosts more than seventy researchers working in every major area of

philosophy, as well as neighbour disciplines in the social sciences and

Candidates must either have an Italian ‘habilitation’ in the area of

Logic and Philosophy of Science at Associate Professor level, or an

equivalent tenured position in a foreign university. Fluency in Italian

language is not required at the time of appointment.
